DESIGN AS FUNCTION

The journey to unknown places combines two expectations: people want to gather new impressions and, at the same time, make sure to be surrounded by familiar elements conveying familiarity and security. The interiors of “Design as Function” meet these expectations with an easy to understand layout and a familiar use of spaces

Principally, a hotel is multifunctional. It serves as place to live and work, as holiday accommodation and stopover. Hotels impress with straightforward utilisation concepts, offering the guests easy accessibility, quick overview and familiar room layouts. At the same time, the stay has to differ from one’s familiar environment, but it should not be too overwhelming.

The actual challenge lies in the combination of habit and new trends in an altogether modern design ambience. Here, a commonly known and clearly differentiated material and colour composition of the interior pays off. Bright shades are combined with intense but nearnatural nuances, while shining colour accentuations are harmoniously used along with natural shades with wood and stone character. Few accessories and decors ensure a clear, understandable and readily accessible design vocabulary.
